About the Role:

You’ll be responsible for operating and maintainingfarm equipment, tractors, and spraying units, and for the application ofrelevant sprays onto our berry crops. Previous experience for this role is notneeded as training will be provided to the successful applicant.

  • Operate tractor and spray unit combination toward the safe and accurate application of sprays to our berry crops
  • Operate slasher, mulching equipment
  • Perform regular checks and preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery as directed
  • Accurately prepare of spray mixtures (insecticides, fungicides, herbicides) to be used in spray operations
  • Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ensure all equipment is regularly washed down and cleaned according to set standards
  • Maintain logs and records for spray applications and for the regular stocktake of equipment
  • Assist in the regular calibration of all equipment
  • Work flexible shifts, night shift or day shift

 About You

 To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A current driver’s license
  • Agricultural experience (not essential)
  • Good communication skills
  • Good record keeping
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and skills would be advantageous
  • The ability to work well as a team
  • The enthusiasm to learn new skills
  • A basic understanding of English (written and spoken)
  • Basic computer/digital technology skills
  • Good planning and time management to ensure set tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to follow direction
