Our newly established Townsville Service Workshop currently has a vacancy for a Trades Assistant as part of our regional growth in Northern Queensland. The role would require assisting in service work mainly on Valves and Instrumentation during weekdays only, consisting of 38 hours per week.
The Trades Assistant would be supervised for development and growth in service skills to expand the current workshop capacity and maintain quality maintenance & service work.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Receiving, booking in and recording incoming service equipment details
- Preparing equipment for testing and assessment
- Assisting in stripping, cleaning, overhauling equipment
- Preparing equipment for dispatch to customer
- Learning from instruction manuals and tutoring to expand their skillsets
- Progressing with training with the aim to develop into a technician
- Adhering to quality checks for each work task
- Upholding our safety standards and maintaining a safe workplace
We see the most suitable candidate possessing:
- A strong interest in mechanical hands-on work
- High energy levels with stamina to work in non-airconditioned environments
- The ability to work with a supervisor and as part of the team
- A willingness to learn and develop skills
- A positive outlook on life and attitude towards work
- The ability to work away on sites if required
- Forklift license would be preferred but not essential
- Manual drivers license preferred but not essential
