This local government is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join their team on a long-term rolling contract.
Your new role
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of reallocation of road space for outdoor dining, including assessing the suitability of applications and effectively resolving known traffic, parking and road safety issues in a timely and professional manner, and obtaining the necessary approvals from internal and external stakeholders.
As a Traffic Engineer, you will be working closely with local residents, businesses and community groups to resolve traffic and transport-related problems, negotiate solutions and interact on sensitive and complex issues. You will be working collaboratively with the Infrastructure project manager to ensure appropriate specification of infrastructure and respective signs changes are in place for installation at each site.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Previous experience working as a Traffic Engineer for Local Government
Excellent ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Current Class ’C’ driver’s licence.
