About us

A decade since our inception, The Traffic Plans Company is still leading our industry in Traffic Management planning and consulting. We are a small, vibrant team with broad experience across all facets of Traffic Management. We have consulted for some of the largest infrastructure and road projects across Victoria.

Qualifications & experience

  • Accreditation in Prepare a Work Zone Traffic Management Plan -RIICWD503D, demonstrating proficiency in developing comprehensive Traffic Management plans in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Bring a minimum of two years of practical experience in traffic planning or related fields, with a proven track record of successfully delivering Traffic Management solutions for diverse projects and clients.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license, enabling the ability to travel to project sites and conduct on-site assessments as necessary.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of relevant legislation, including AGTTM01-21 and other Codes of Practice, ensuring full compliance and adherence to statutory requirements in all planning activities.
  • Demonstrate a strong motivation to promote and communicate safe work practices, with a keen awareness of safety regulations and protocols to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of personnel and the public.
  • Exhibit experience in providing recommendations for effective hazard mitigation in Traffic Management plans, identifying potential risks and implementing appropriate controls to minimize safety hazards and environmental impacts.
  • Possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and project stakeholders to clarify requirements, address concerns, and facilitate project coordination and collaboration.
  • Display a self-motivated and proactive attitude, with the ability to take initiative and drive tasks to completion, while remaining solutions-oriented and adaptable to changing project needs and priorities.
  • Demonstrate sound administrative skills and computer literacy, including proficiency in document control, permit management, and relevant software applications to support efficient project planning and execution.
  • Show a commitment to ongoing professional development and learning, staying informed about industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance skills, knowledge, and performance in the field of Traffic Management.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with clients to understand their specific Traffic Management needs, fostering strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard identification during the development of Traffic Management plans, implementing robust controls and mitigation strategies to minimise potential risks to personnel and the public.
  • Develop "fit for purpose" Traffic Management plans in strict accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards, company policies, and procedures, ensuring full compliance and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders, maintaining clear and effective communication channels to coordinate activities.
  • Maintain meticulous document control throughout the planning process, ensuring accurate recording and tracking of all plan revisions, approvals, and permit applications.
  • Manage all permit applications and requirements efficiently and in a timely manner, liaising with regulatory agencies and local authorities to secure necessary approvals and permissions for implementation.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and optimisation within the Traffic Management planning function, implementing innovative solutions and best practices to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and safety outcomes.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in Traffic Management regulations, technologies, and methodologies through ongoing training and professional development activities.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety leadership by promoting and encouraging safe work practices among team members and stakeholders, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all activities.
