Start a meaningful career optimising Australia's digital future

Our Field Service teams are nbn’s professional, trusted, and essential customer facing workforce. They’re the friendly faces, confident voices and skilled hands working on our network and in communities every day. Our Trainee Customer Field Technicians are an integral part of these teams, and learn, develop, and build skills as they turn their passion into practice every day. Contributing to something important and lasting, a network that spans our country, bringing unlimited possibilities to Australian homes and businesses.

What you'll get out:
  • A traineeship program where you will get paid while you learn
  • Work primarily in the field, learning on the job alongside our experts
  • A nationally recognised qualification
  • A versatile and valuable career steppingstone
  • An nbn work vehicle (after 6 months)
  • An inclusive work culture that prioritises balance and wellbeing
  • A dedicated and caring team of subject matter experts to train and support you
A bit about your role

As a Trainee Customer Field Technician based in Forster, you’ll undertake a 12-month traineeship with all the development opportunities and support you need to build your skills and career as you go (from coaching and mentoring to a nationally recognised Cert III qualification in Telecommunications).

From here, you’ll experience a diverse and dynamic working environment where no two days out in the field are alike. Supported by our dedicated and caring managers and skilled, experienced, and collaborative colleagues you will build your skills and confidence. Whether you’re out in the network performing inspections or maintenance, diagnosing, and resolving faults, to providing the best service, or connecting more homes and businesses to high-speed fibre, you’ll encounter new experiences around every corner and opportunities to learn and grow at every step.

A bit about you

To get the most out of this traineeship, you’ll likely have an inquisitive mind and an eagerness to learn, a positive attitude and a driver’s license. A passion for customer service, an appetite for working independently and at pace will set you up for even more success. We’ll support you with developing your skills and will provide the training and guidance you need on the job in a safe, supportive, and flexible environment while you get paid.
