Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Draftsperson. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to learn and develop essential skills in drafting and design within the engineering field. No prior experience is required for this role, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to kick-start their career in drafting and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist senior draftspersons in drafting plans, diagrams, and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  2. Collaborate with engineers, architects and building designers to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings for residential and light commercial projects.
  3. Learn and apply drafting standards and techniques to ensure compliance with industry regulations and project requirements.
  4. Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members to understand project objectives and timelines.
  5. Maintain organised records of drawings and revisions to facilitate project coordination and revisions as needed.
  6. Support the team with general administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  2. Strong attention to detail and a desire to learn new skills.
  3. Basic computer literacy and familiarity with CAD software is a plus but not required.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  6. Own transportation to and from the office is required.
  7. Must be available to work during regular office hours (8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday).
