Job Description
This position is dual role as trainer assessor and some course coordination work for Community Services department. The role is responsible for planning and coordinating the delivery and assessment of courses. This job involves supporting students and trainers in achieving course goals, developing curriculum, planning and coordinating course delivery. The coordinator is responsible to assure the quality of training and integrity of the academic courses. Some training and assessment duties are required.
Duty Statement and Responsibilities:
- Train and deliver units with the Community Services Training package and the applicant is required to hold a Diploma of Community Services qualification.
- Ensure adequate training resources and support are provided to deliver each Unit of Competency including invite guest speakers for special topics and external excursions.
- Liaise with industry stakeholders and update on any industry changes
- Play a key developmental role in identifying training needs or changes to training packages and liaise with industry stakeholders and update on any industry changes
- Oversee the development, modification and contextualisation of all assessments to suit the needs of student and industry clients
- Coordinate and participate in all training and assessment moderation and validation activities in designated course areas.
- Conduct and coordinate workplace training and assessments in the workplace according to APSI policies and procedures and training package assessment requirements
- Conduct industry consultation relevant to the units and the qualifications with industry experts
- Manage the provision of quality teaching and student services including signing off students for holiday request, unit re-sit, and reassessment schedule.
- Update Training and Assessment Strategy (TAS) for the department under the department yearly or required
- Implementing a continuous improvement process regarding the training and assessment duties by acknowledging and acting on feedback from students and stakeholders.
- Providing guidance and counselling to students, assisting in every way to ensure that training outcomes are met and that individuals succeed in their endeavours.
- In consultation with training manager, dealing with complaints and appeals in a prompt, fair and decisive manner.
- Maintain current professional development/currency to ensure personal knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to their training and assessing duties and ensure they are current and constantly advanced
Salary package is negotiable based on current VET knowledge and experience.
