About the role:
Aurizon’s Coal division in the Hunter Valley is dedicated to improving the way we deliver training. As a result of a recent restructure, we have created a new dedicated Training Supervisor to support our driver trainers in the delivery of their roles. As a frontline leader you will engage, enable, and coordinate traincrew to achieve safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of train services to customers every day
Coach and enable team to make safe decisions through effective planning of work that understands and manages risk with effective controls in place.
Delivery of safe outcomes through the effective utilisation of safety tools, systems, and processes in the workplace.
Conduct performance discussions with Traincrew to confirm expectations and put plans in place to address any performance or behavioural gaps.
Contribute to a learning environment spending time in the field engaging with traincrew about their safety experiences and identifying opportunities for continual improvement
Provide active crewing levels to support the provision of rostering and scheduling services, by actively and efficiently managing training requirements, annual leave, attendance levels and mitigating any overtime requirements.
Ensure optimum driving methodologies are being adhered to by regularly reviewing downloads and closing out the feedback loop with traincrew.
Conduct all allocated investigations in a timely manner that delivers factual and written reports of findings for decision makers to determine appropriate outcomes.
About you:
You are an enthusiastic leader who enjoys engaging with people, with a passion for safety.
1-3 Years Supervisory experience required
Rail Industry experience not essential
Well-developed safety management skills and knowledge, safety interactions, near miss reporting and behaviour-based safety leadership.
Demonstrated line leadership skills including task assignment, communication, problem solving and performance management.
Ability to effectively engage team members, establish and sustain relationships, set clear direction, and provide coaching.
Demonstrated ability in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
