Over the last 30 years we have grown to offer a wide range of specialised services, with more than 25 depots across Australia, we are ideally positioned to provide exceptional vehicle transport services to both individuals and OEM customers.
Due to recent growth and new contracts, we are looking for an exceptional Transport Scheduler/Planner to join our Transport team in Launceston branch. This position is suitable for an experienced HC Truck driver who will support in the scheduling and planning of loads to deliver excellent logistics management services for the company and its customers nationally. This includes ensuring that activities are performed safely, accurately and in accordance with legislative, company and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Selecting appropriate load mix to maximise utilisation of company and subcontractor equipment and Optimising choice of routes
- Ensuring loads are planned for direct delivery where possible by adhering to Basic Fatigue Management regulations and restraints
- Providing effective communication with customers, internal Customer Liaison Officers (CLO’s) and Account Managers to identify and rectify issues in relation to supplied service levels
- Maintaining scheduled services and advise customers, internal CLO’s and Account Managers of changes to schedules with adequate notice
- Ensuring designated freight is loaded, dispatched, and delivered within the agreed time frames to meet customer requirements and KPIs
- Investigating all instances of service failure by identifying root causes and instigate changes to and/or reinforcement of standard operation procedures to prevent re-occurrence
- Maintaining accurate Availability Reports
- Ensuring accurate and timely entry and completion of manifests, including all subcontractor payments and the timely change of manifest status
- Ensuring planning sheets are complete and accurate
- Report submission.
- Operating a Car carrier and loading vehicles onto trailers for safe transport
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips, log and report any anomalies
- Securing and strapping vehicles once loaded
- Occasional Tasmania state based delivery runs
- HC licence
- MSIC an advantage
- Sound operational knowledge of transport logistics
- The ability to identify and remedy operational inefficiencies and service problems
- Working knowledge of Basic Fatigue Management
- Strong customer service orientation
- Good computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office applications (Strong Excel skills are highly valued) and database software [In house system]
- Strong communication skills including written, verbal, presentation and effective persuasion skills
