This role facilitates the patient transportation duties in the clinical setting. Transport Drivers are responsible for assisting clients to access services within the South West area. The transport service aims to minimise non-attendance at appointments and maximise health outcomes for clients through attendance at booked appointments for medical treatment and/or review.
Specific requirements of this position include but are not limited to;
Essential Criteria
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander under section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunities Act 1984.
Flexibility in availability, to work within a roster with staggered start/ finish times Monday to Friday.
Ability and willingness to provide transport to all Aboriginal clients.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to achieve high level customer service to internal and external clients in high pressure situations.
Ability to achieve transport requirements within scheduled timeframes.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people.
Experience, skills and knowledge in multidisciplinary teamwork and conflict management
Demonstrated organisational and time management skills along with an ability to adapt to changing needs
Ability to take direction, determine priorities and manage workloads in order to meet agreed timelines and objectives.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.
Desirable Criteria
Ability to drive to outreach to the Greater Bunbury and South West regions.
Successful completion of a Defensive Driving Course
MR Class licence
Experience in Community or Aboriginal Health
Knowledge and expertise in the use of Communicare or similar clinical database system.
All candidates must have a current WA Driver’s License and will be required to undertake a have a Police Clearance or NDIS Worker Screening check prior to employment.
The preferred candidate will also be required to provide a clear drug and alcohol screen prior to offer of employment.
