Transport Network Policy Officer

  • Annual Salary Range: $90,067 - $102,192
  • Employment Type: Ongoing Full Time
  • Usual Work Location: Melbourne – CBD, flexibility available
About the Opportunity

You will contribute to the development and delivery of organisational positions on complex matters relating to operating, managing and maintaining the transport network, particularly the arterial road network. You will provide advice and build organisational capability in the application of, and obligations under, transport network legislation (such as the Road Management Act).
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and management of Department of Transport policies, standards, guidelines and tools
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative and cost-effective proposals that assist in improving efficiency and asset maintenance
  • Negotiate with and influence key internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain effective working relationships
About You
  • ability to understand and apply relevant legislation (such as the Road Management Act), strategies and policies
  • have sound written and verbal communication skills
  • can build trust and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
  • have sound research and analytical skills and experience to support policy development
  • apply judgement and develop innovative responses to complex problems
