The Division

The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.

The opportunity

Right now, we have an exciting opportunity available to join our Planning for Places branch as a Transport Planning Manager- Planning for Places.

This role will see you responsible for providing strategic planning leadership and expertise to support the delivery of a range of Transport Planning projects, with a primary focus on Western Sydney.

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Transport Planner who is comfortable working across multi-disciplinary, matrixed teams, as this role delivers strategic planning from scratch; place based planning; integrated network planning and major projects.

In addition, you will be involved in:
  • Bringing Future Transport to life through place-based planning that delivers on customer outcomes to improve the lives of people in NSW
  • Providing strategic advice, research and analysis and recommendations on a wide range of projects
  • Contribute to project planning and reporting ensuring updates and risks are communicated to relevant stakeholders
  • Leading and working on more complex projects providing mentorship to other team members.
About you

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of transport planning practices with relevant experience working in a large and complex project environment. Experience in other related disciplines (eg planning) would also be highly regarded. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, including a collaborative and co-design approach to addressing issues and driving solutions throughout the full project lifecycle. You are a strategic thinker who can put the plans in place from scratch

You will have highly developed analytical capability and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing work priorities in a matrixed team environment. The ideal candidate would possess exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), ability to influence and negotiate while balancing stakeholders expectation.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 9 ($142,178 - $159,238) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
