Job Description

Facilitating new account integration: You will work closely with the sales team and customers to understand their requirements and provide tailored transport solutions that meet their needs. You will develop efficient processes for onboarding new accounts while ensuring that the solutions provided are both profitable and sustainable

Modelling contract logistics opportunities: You will utilise routing software to optimise fleet size, type, utilisation, and cost for specific contracts or projects. You will work closely with the sales team to develop proposals that are attractive to customers while also being financially viable

Championing understanding of the transport industry: You will keep up-to-date with changes in regulations, market conditions, and emerging technologies that affect the transport industry. You will share this knowledge with the team and develop strategies for adapting to these changes

Training, mentoring and developing the team: You will identify areas where team members need additional support or training and provide coaching and guidance to help them develop their skills. You will encourage knowledge-sharing and collaboration within the team to improve performance

Providing vision and analytical support: You will work with the sales team and customers to develop innovative transport solutions that meet their evolving needs. You will use data analysis and modelling tools to support decision-making and demonstrate the value of transport solutions to customers

Negotiating working processes and managing implementation: You will work with internal stakeholders and external customers to establish effective working processes that meet the needs of all parties. You will ensure that these processes are properly documented and regularly reviewed to ensure they remain effective

Maintaining regular communication with other functions: You will foster open communication channels between the Transport Operations team and other functions such as Sales, Customer Service, and Finance. You will share information on emerging requirements and improvement planning to facilitate collaboration and ensure that transport solutions are aligned with overall business objectives

Presenting compelling solutions to customers: You will develop presentations and other materials that effectively communicate the value of transport solutions to customers. You will use data and analytics to support your proposals and demonstrate the potential benefits to the customer's business

Developing, implementing and reviewing process improvements: You will continuously review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement. You will work with the team and other stakeholders to implement these improvements and regularly review their effectiveness to ensure they continue to drive success

The Successful Applicant

Education and Experience: A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience in transport operations, logistics management, or supply chain management is essential.

Knowledge of the Transport Industry: A deep understanding of the transport industry and its trends, regulations, and best practices is critical. The candidate should be able to demonstrate experience in implementing transport solutions across a range of industries.

Analytical and Problem-solving Skills: The candidate should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as experience in using data analysis to identify and resolve operational issues.

Leadership Skills: The candidate should have experience in leading and developing teams, as well as the ability to motivate and engage team members towards achieving goals.

Communication Skills: The candidate should be an effective communicator, able to articulate complex ideas and solutions in a clear and concise manner. The ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and other stakeholders is also important.

Negotiation Skills: The candidate should have experience in negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers, vendors, and customers.

Process Improvement Experience: The candidate should have experience in developing and implementing process improvements, as well as a continuous improvement mindset. * Adaptability and Flexibility: The candidate should be able to adapt to changing business needs and priorities, and have the flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
