The opportunity

Currently we have a full time poistion available for a Truck Driver (Semi Trailer) for our Western Sealing Team.

It is a requiremnt to hold a HC Class Drivers Licence and competently operate Heavy Combination vehicles. The Truck Driver (Semi Trailer) is also expected to drive any other vehicles covered by their licence

What you will be involved in:
Operating Heavy Combination vehicles
Operating aggregate spreading vehicles
Operating a small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools.
Ability to deal with routine problems that arise during the course of work
Spreading the stone by reverse driving for bitumen sealing works

In addition to the position’s primary duties the Truck Driver (Semi Trailer) also performs any of the duties of a Road Worker as and when required.

About you

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people who have experience in identifying and reporting Safety and environmental hazards in the workplace and rectify them.

When you are not driving the truck, you will be performing labouring tasks including maintaining drainages, drilling and installing signs and guide post, marking transverse line , performing traffic control and other maintenance and construction activities as and when required. You will also be required to assist the crew in manual tasks , maintain site records and provide excellent service to our customers when required.

You must have good track record driving truck safely and maintaining the workplace safe for team member. You will also have the capability to deal with routine problems with limited supervision and apply interpersonal skills to assist members of the public and other team members. Attend emergency call outs and must be prepared to travel extensively and be away from home for periods of up to two weeks.

You will also possess:
Valid White Card
Valid HC Driver’s license
Preferably Bitumen Sealing experience with a focus on aggregate spreading

We take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously therefore to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 70 kms distance from the Dubbo depot.

The salary for this position is $ 1376.60 per week plus superannuation.

This is a base rate for a 38-hour week - additional entitlements such as penalty rates for reasonable overtime and travel allowance apply in accordance with the relevant award.
