Turf Production Assistant & Operator

Company Overview: Join our team at New Lawn Turf based in Manilla, a family run business dedicated to delivering exceptional quality turf to our customers.  We are seeking a diligent person to join our team. 

Position Overview: Your primary role is harvesting turf, however, you will also be involved in the upkeep of fields, mowing, landscaping jobs, laying of turf, and operating tractors, excavators, skid steers, forklifts, and other machinery.  You will play a crucial role in our farming operations, the position requires attention to detail, safe operation of machinery. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Action daily harvest order sheets ensuring accurate quantity is cut, with the specific variety of turf and quality and weight requirements. 
• Learn different varieties of turf and their needs, the paddock conditions and watering / mowing requirements of each turf variety. 
• Assist landscaping jobs 
• Conduct farm maintenance tasks as directed, contributing to the upkeep and improvement of farm facilities.
• Ensure cleanliness, tidiness, and proper functioning of all machinery used in the harvesting process.
• Report any faults, issues, or potential improvements to machinery promptly to the management team.
• Collaborate effectively with other farm workers and management to achieve operational goals and maintain a harmonious working environment.

Requirements:

• Possession of a valid driver's license is essential.
• Possession of a truck license is essential. The minimum requirement is an HR license.
• Previous experience operating tractors and working on farms is advantageous. 
• A forklift license is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
• Chemical Certification is advantageous
• Ability to adhere to safety protocols and responsibly operate machinery.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of work quality and attention to detail.
• Computer skills
