Your new role
Due to company restructure and new contractors commencing on site our client is now looking to recruit 2 Trainer and Assessors to work onsite on the surface and underground, Duties will include but won’t be limited to;
- Provide training, assessment and verification of competency (VOC) services to underground mining personnel (employees and contractors), including operations, mobile equipment maintenance technicians, mine technical services, other mining contractors
- Timely processing of training and assessment documentation required to maintain up-to-date skills matrix for personnel associated with underground operations
- Facilitate inductions and onboarding programs to support underground operations
- Assist with the development of approved procedures and work instructions relating to underground operations as required
- Assist with the revision of training, assessment, VOC and onboarding packages and resources relating to underground mining operations
- Facilitate continuous improvement by recognising and reporting gaps and deficiencies in the training systems or tools and assist with remedial actions
This role will initially be of 6 month duration with the possibility of extension, be based on an 8/6 roster, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry/Mt Isa or alternatively, fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you must have the following skills:
- Current Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE4011)
- Experience in all mining machinery including Underground Loader, Trucks and Drill Rigs
- Sound knowledge and understanding of mining practices and technical systems
- Desirable to have proven competency in, or demonstrate understanding of the operation of underground mine production and ancillary equipment. This may include, but not be limited to Integrated Tool carriers, UG Dump Trucks, LHD Boggers and AutoMine Bogger system, Service Trucks, Graders, Water Trucks, Production Charging, Longhole Drill Rigs, mechanised Cable Bolting units and installation of services
- Demonstrable experience in the preparation and facilitation of underground operational training modules, including but not limited to inductions, onboarding programmes, underground light vehicle operation, heavy mine equipment
- Demonstrate a high level of facilitation/presentation skills as well as flexibility in coaching and training techniques
