Job description

This disruptive, Australian owned and operated technology and project solutions market leader continues its exponential growth delivering high tech software solutions to commercial, State and Federal government, and Defence agencies across the country. The Canberra-based practice is the flagship hub for its innovative software product development team and requires the skills of a Unity Developer to assist in the delivery two 3D VR / AR training and collaboration systems.
  
Operating within a dynamic, multi-located software team, the Unity Developer will have dual responsibilities which will include contributing to the architecture and implementation of cutting edge, Cloud-enabled mixed, virtual and augmented reality systems utilised within simulated training platforms; as well as providing broader software development and consulting expertise across a range of customer facing tech projects.
  
The Unity Developer will ideally bring to the table broad experience across various Unity platform functionality ranging from implementation of UI, to experience controllers, object behaviours, prefabs, animation, physics, lighting, particle systems, AI systems and external interfaces for both private Cloud and public SaaS offerings. You will ideally have demonstrated experience building VR systems, and undertaking Unity networking. You will help create, estimate and manage the backlog which will be done in Azure DevOps. You will write clean and well maintained code that will be hosted on plastic SCM.
  
You will enjoy extensive flexibility and autonomy in this engagement; largely working from home, though, also attending periodic in-house Sprint sessions, team training, and customer product presentations on client site. You will possess an inquisitive nature, a willingness to try new things, take some risks, and learn from a few mistakes along the way. You will report directly to an impressive Senior Tech Director who is a seasoned VR/AR subject matter expert, and embraces and encourages innovation and ambition.
  
Given the sensitive nature of the information and customer environment, the Unity Developer will be required gain and maintain an active Australian security clearance (Australian citizenship is a minimum requirement).  Professionals based in Canberra will be highly regarded, though, the opportunity is open to strong Unity specialists across the country.
