Van Driver (Roving Ambassador)

About the role
is looking for an incredibly special Van Driver to join our Operations team based in Clayton. As our Roving Ambassador, you will be greeted warmly with smiles delivering gifts and collecting donations for our charity. You will play an important role in the transportation of goods across both metro and regional areas of Victoria, as well as being our ‘Front of House’ for the organisation in our highly visible St Kilda Mums van.
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be required to:
- Pick up goods from donors, op shops and businesses
- Deliver goods to hospitals, social service agencies and maternal and child health nurses
- Cheerily connect our charity to key stakeholders
- Load, unload and transport goods between our two warehouses & regional partners - mainly Clayton, Geelong and Ballarat
- Maintain a safe and clean vehicle at all times
- Ensure high levels of professionalism and service at all times
- Troubleshoot problems with pickup and delivery of goods to achieve timeframes and requirements
- Complete and maintain all relevant and timely electronic activity reports
- Participate as an active and professional member of the St Kilda Mums team
Skills and experience
The key selection criteria for this role includes (but is not limited to):
- Current driver's license
- An excellent driving record
- Strong knowledge of driving safety and vehicle maintenance
- Excellent organisational and logistical skills
- Attention to detail and a flexible attitude
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to think on your feet and calmly manage problems that arise in maintaining efficient service and delivery requirements
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Demonstrating a proactive approach to tasks
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professional internal and external relationships
- Proficiency with software programs such as Gmail and MS Office apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
