MMG Dugald River:

The mine; Dugald River is fully owned by MMG Limited and is one of the world's top 10 Zinc operation and is mined underground. Dugald River has an estimated mine life of 20+ years and is expected to produce around 180,000 - 190,000 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate annually. The operation employs around 500 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.

Senior Engineer-Ventilation

As a Senior Engineer-Ventilation, you will ensure production activities are supported by providing timely and deep expertise in mine ventilation designs with appropriate plans and schedules which are then followed and monitored to provide for a safe and efficient mine production.

This role reports to the Mine Technical Services Superintendent and is offered on an 8/6, 4/3 roster drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.

Qualifications, skills & competencies

Bachelor's Degree in mining engineering and Ventilation officers' ticket
Demonstrable mine engineering experience with extensive underground ventilation experience.
Expertise in underground mine ventilation design, simulation, survey, monitor and reporting experiences
Sound knowledge on ventilation equipment selection, construction, and maintenance requirements
Experience in refrigeration and Life of Mine (LOM) ventilation studies
Expertise in using Deswik CAD and VentSim
Current C Class Driver's licence
Responsibilities include

Completion of appropriate, accurate and timely mine operating plans, designs, schedules & budgets for Dugald River Mine ensuring the requirements of the business are met with a specific focus on ventilation requirements.
Ventilation planning for development and production areas in the underground mine with consideration of primary and secondary air circuits as well as modelling and monitoring their effectiveness
Management of the Ventilation on Demand system.
Communication and implementation of ventilation plans and associated infrastructure in conjunction with mining operations personnel.
Management of the Refrigeration Plant and upcoming expansions
Review of LOM options to provide feedback on appropriate ventilation strategies
Mine production sequencing, scheduling & forecasting in consultation with technical services personnel.
Preparation of mine services design such as provision of adequate drainage, power, air & water requirements
