We are looking for an experienced Venue Manager to join our FOH management team in a Full-Time role.
Funk has two venues in the Swan Valley, Funk Brewshed and House of Funk. This is a shared management role with our current Venue Manager, looking after both venues.
House of Funk is open Fri - Sun only 11am to 5pm.
Funk Brewshed is open Thur - Mon 11am - 5pm in winter. In summer (Nov - Mar) we are open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays until 9pm.
House of Funk is our OG venue where the party vibes rule. This venue has a younger demographic, more casual vibes and it is where we cater for the party buses.
Funk Brewshed is the second funk venue, located in the beautiful Henley Brook. It is where our magic happens, where the drinks are made, and the vines grow! This is where we offer an immersive funk experience, with storytelling, production tours and workshops.

As the Venue Manager, you will manage, coordinate, and oversee the daily operations of both venues. This is a versatile role encompassing many aspects from training staff to ensuring quality customer service. You will possess a passion for craft drinks, and hospitality, strong business acumen, and excellent leadership and communication skills.
What you will do as our Venue Manager:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the venues' front-of-house team.
- Recruitment, training, rostering, and general management of the front of house team.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, improve customer experience, and reduce costs.
- Ensure that the venue runs smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory and ordering supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Manage and coordinate all events hosted at the venues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Assist the marketing manager with the development and implementation of marketing and promotional activities.
- Assist the Head Chef with menu development.
What you possess:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Restaurant Manager or Venue Manager with a proven track record of success within a similar role.
- Experience with IMPOS and Mr Yum.
- A passion for hospitality and customer service, including a strong knowledge of current trends in food, beer, wine, and spirits.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills.
- Experience with inventory management, cost control, and budgeting.
- Strong physical stamina adept for a bustling work environment.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
- Approved Manager’s card.
