Job DescriptionWe are looking for a new Veteran Services Consultant to join our Launceston team. There is travel required for this role, so there will be a requirement to work from the Launceston office, servicing clients from this location, as well as travel around surrounding regions.Enjoy diversity in your role - No one day is ever the same!Tasks could include:Provision of case management services and managing a specialised caseload of veteran clients, supporting them on their return to wellbeing journey, this includes via in-person servicing and teleconference.Supporting veteran clients to return to work following service-related injuries and illnesses, as medically appropriate for the veteran.Supporting veteran clients and their families to re-engage with community activities.Supporting veteran clients and their families to engage in civilian medical treatment and develop an understanding of how to access treatment with support from government entities.Assisting veteran clients who may be experiencing a crisis or need mental health support. The provision of care is veteran-centred, and trauma informed. Attending case conferences to support veteran clients.Supporting veteran partners to engage in job seeking activities and obtain employment.Working with people with complex psychological and physical diagnoses and supporting them as they return to their usual activities.Undertaking a variety of assessments to support veterans engage in services.Working with a variety of stakeholders such as veterans, veteran families, government departments, RSL Employment Program, Open Arms Veterans and Families Counselling, various Ex-Service Organisations (ESOs), community programs, Invictus Australia, NDIS and treating health practitioners - to ensure our veteran clients are supported and connected.Providing psychoeducation and training to clients and employers validated biopsychosocial tools and healthy mind training packages.Working in a multi-disciplinary team to support mentoring, knowledge and growth.Utilisation of various case management systems and an internal intranet page. Use of external portals to keep up to date with important information.Travel will be required in this role to provide services for our veteran clients at alternative locations throughout Tasmania – km’s will be reimbursedThere may be some overnight travel involved on a monthly basis.Building and maintaining relationships with local community and veteran service organisations.Building and maintaining relationships with local clinical services, providing treatment to veteran clients. QualificationsOur new team member will have:Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counselling or Psychology (Provisional or Registered);Tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Exercise Physiologist, Osteopath, Speech Pathologist and Physiotherapist will be consideredRegistration with your professional body is required for this role eg: AHPRA, AASW, ASORC, RCAA;Strong emotional intelligence and a genuine passion for holistically working with veteran clients and their families to support their journey of recovery and return to wellbeing;Good time management and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and complex problem-solving abilities;A current driver licence and access to their own vehicle;Experience working with veterans or first responders highly advantageous;Those with a lived experience of military service or family connections are encouraged to apply;Candidates will be required to go through an onboarding process which includes required Comcare and DVA accreditation and Mental Health First Aid training and accreditation;Candidates will be required to participate in ongoing veteran specific CPD as part of their employment with IPAR. Additional informationProviding opportunities to participate in relevant CPD and professional training;Full time and Part time options available Mixed role of working from an office, working from home and engaging with clients in person either in the office or alternative locations;Provision of work laptop and mobile phone;Mentoring and working closely with IPAR’s Veteran Support Team - no one works in isolation;An opportunity to be part of the Veteran Advisory Board, an internal board made up of veterans and ex-serving members and family of veterans, or people with close connections to the veteran community to ensure our services remain veteran-centric and reflective of the needs of the community;Engagement and involvement in our partnership with Invictus Australia;IPAR provides travel reimbursement at .96 cents/km;If overnight travel is required, this will be provided at IPAR expense.
