Job description

This position presents a unique approach to supported private practice, empowering you to channel your talents in a manner that enables you to end up loving private practice as much as we do.  It will allow you to spend your work time with a cohesive team of like-minded individuals, united in making a meaningful impact.  Join us, and you will be cultivated to become your best self and encouraged to live your best life, as you support your clients to become and be the same.

Equanimity are passionate about hiring based on culture fit, because our team embodies our essence. We strive for you to seamlessly meld into our vibrant team, becoming an indispensable part of our collective spirit.

Our ultimate vision? To see you (and every team member) walk through our doors each day with a radiant smile, driven by a profound sense of fulfillment. We are on a mission to cultivate a happiness-infused workplace, and we're absolutely thrilled about it.

At Equanimity, it is our vision to not only remove the stigma around mental health, but to go further and make help-seeking and psychological support a natural and comfortable part of life. To walk into Equanimity’s Living Room, is as comfortable and acceptable, as walking into your favourite café to meet your people, debrief and be put back together.  Something to anticipate eagerly.   At Equanimity, we ‘Do Psychology Differently’. Break free from the ordinary and explore innovative approaches to the mental health journey – whilst maintaining evidence-based practice and the highest level of ethics and best practice.

An Equanimity Psychologist demonstrates unwavering integrity in every interaction and conduct and finds a way to deliver this with ease and safety.

To assist others in innovative ways, towards our unique vision, ignites our motivation to accomplish even greater things, continuously surpassing expectations in all that we, for both client and practitioner, to improve accessibility to, and longevity within, the Profession.  If you’re eager to be a part of this vision, then we encourage you to keep reading.

If you are a fully registered Psychologist, we currently have two opportunities to come on-board as either a contractor or employee. We have a burnout prevention caseload model, which includes a full-time caseload of no more than 24 client hours per week, a focus on taking regular time-off, no appointments booked outside of your allocated hours, caseload monitoring to ensure caseload balance of mild to severe presentations.

Equanimity, unlike many other private practices, offers a structured Career Progression Pathway to ensure you can continue to grow as a practitioner, can have as much role diversity or develop a population focus, as you desire, can step into leadership and management roles should you like to and as such you can actively progress your career within the industry and field.

In addition to the above, we also offer:

- Best practice, responsive and proactive administrative support with active diary management

- Individual Clinical Supervision

- Group Peer Supervision

- Clinical CPD days

- Clinical Endorsement supervision

- Flexible hours and fortnights

- and much, much more.

For Contractors: Contractor Remuneration will be discussed at the interview.

For Employees: The details of the complete Remuneration Package will be discussed at interview and is based on your level of skills and experience.

Equanimity has been serving the Australian and International communities for well over 25 years now and is in it’s 13th year on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW.  Our vision was always to ‘do psychology differently’  and we are passionate about continuing that legacy with ever evolving creativity, not just for the benefit of our community in offering gold standard evidence based practice, but in creating a work environment that doesn’t just talk about having fun and being supportive and encouraging of both individual and team well-being, but actually following through on delivering.  So when we say we do psychology differently we also mean we are not your typical psychologists.

In line with our vision, we try to have regular discussion with our team around why they love working with us and how we can work on consistently improving as a practice and team.

Below is some feedback from our team:

“Working at Equanimity is a supportive environment where as a clinician I feel valued and listened to.  Working at Equanimity promotes high quality, evidenced based practice allowing us to thrive as very skilled clinicians.

“Equanimity is a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere lending itself to a great learning environment that sets you up for success and thriving. Equanimity sets a high standard for quality, ethical practice to ensure our clients' experience is one of safety, growth, and value.”

“Ethics, safety, and evidenced-based practice is paramount  - At Equanimity you are not limited to a certain presentation which has offered me exposure to different client populations to both hit my competencies and to explore interest areas as a psychologist.”

Equanimity’s amazing space never feels like a ‘clinic’, nor do our rooms feel like ‘treatment rooms’, this is a place of comfort, safety and relaxation….and as a result healing and fun, for both our visitors and our team.

We are located off The Entrance Road at Erina Heights, surrounded by beautiful gum trees and the sounds of bell birds on most days, with ample parking both outside our front door, as well as directly across the road in the IGA complex just up from Central Coast Grammar School.

We have accessible toilets and parking, as well as accessibility to our sensory play room either via the stairs or via a back driveway that is wheelchair accessible if needed.  You will enter Equaco’s Living Room also known as our waiting room, via the front door to a TV, music, lounges, toys, candles, sensory flooring, a beautiful plant that is our pride and joy, and our warm and welcoming practice manager, for whom nothing is too much to assist with.

We have a couple of therapy dogs in training that make an appearance on a day or two per week, and a café two doors down with awesome coffee and amazing fresh food every day and every shop owner in our strip is family!

We'd be thrilled to have you join us on this exciting journey as we strive to realise our vision of continued excellence in Doing Psychology Differently and changing the face and experience of the industry.  Apply right now by sending us your Resume and Cover Letter setting out why you would like to join us on this adventure.
