Our Purpose
VicReturn is an exciting new business, tasked with the oversight and administration of Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (“CDS Vic”), which is scheduled to launch in November 2023. At VicReturn we are motivated to help keep beverage containers out of landfill, creating clean streams of recycled materials that help to build our Circular Economy by promoting product stewardship of all Beverage Suppliers in Victoria.
As the appointed Scheme Coordinator for CDS Vic, we work with government and partners to oversee the building of a large-scale container recycling network which will play a key role in transforming Victoria’s waste and recycling system. Through a 10c refund for every eligible container returned we will encourage Victorians to collect and recycle their beverage containers, making a positive difference to our people, environment and local industry.

About the role:
The Engagement Manager, Operations Network role will advise and be a strategic partner between VicReturn and its operational entities, such as the Network Operators. The role will focus on building productive and mutually beneficial working relationships, removing inhibitors for success and driving contractual performance. The role will measure performance through analytical analysis and ensure positive open communication between the groups ultimately championing VicReturn business objectives and goals.
Positively represent VicReturn and the operations team through day to day relationships with all stakeholders, that are based on a foundation of mutual respect and focused on delivering the most effective outcome for the Container Deposit Scheme objectives, with a focus on scheme integrity.
Actively engaging with operational partners to determine improvements in practice and formulate solutions in line with VicReturn’s risk management approach and the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme objectives.
Support VicReturn Audit program through collection point verification activities.
Ownership and accountability for risk register items as they relate to operational item
Skills and Experiences:
About you:
Bachelor or Postgraduate University qualification
Experience in operations management, commercial or account management and/or within the recycling industry with a proven ability to manage multiple professional priorities, projects and relationships concurrently.
Demonstrable experience in planning and delivering agreed outcomes within a timeframe.
An analytical mind able to measure performance and key metrics, with an ability to present data and provide key insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
