St Mary's Anglican Girls' School is an independent day and boarding school for 1450 girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. The School is located close to the ocean in the northern suburb of Karrinyup and, during term time, is home to more than 185 boarders.
The Art department is a positive, dynamic department which has consistently excellent WACE achievement and achieved many Art awards. The study of Visual Arts is compulsory in Year 7 and 8. Extended Art and Design electives are offered from Year 9 and ATAR Visual Arts, General Visual Art and VET units are offered in Year 11 and 12.
We are seeking an excellent classroom practitioner to fill this full-time fixed term role for 2023. The successful candidate will:
- have experience teaching upper school Visual Art.
- display academic rigour in the teaching of art history and criticism and visual language.
- demonstrate a high level of technical skills in a two-dimensional art form.
The ability to plan and implement coherent, well sequenced teaching and learning programs within the Art Curriculum that engage students and maximise learning is essential.
