Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. are seeking volunteers who can assist in supporting our voluntary run autobiography client program.
Do you enjoy chatting with older people and learning about their lives?
If so, we would love for you to volunteer within our Community Home Care Team, working in the Eastern Area to support clients in capturing their life stories and compiling them into a booklet.
The role would be for approximately 2 hours per week and will require intermediate Word document skills to create a biography book for the client. Volunteer/s will be provided with a laptop.
If you have a genuine interest in older people and can help to positively and logically compile their life story with complementary photos then we would love to hear from you.
This volunteer position would best suit those with great listening skills, patience and empathy.

All volunteers require the following;
A current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care, or be willing to obtain one
Evidence you have received the 2022 Influenza Vaccination
In addition, as per the Australian Government mandate for Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF), Southern Cross Care requires that all volunteers based at a RACF are to be vaccinated, and require proof that they have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
