The Centre for Applied Climate Sciences (CACS) helps people, business, communities and organisation, in Australia, Asia, the Pacific and beyond, assess and manage risks they face from climate change, climate variability and both weather and climate extremes, and seize any associated opportunities.
Who you are
In this key role, you will work closely with the research team to undertake web development activities to produce web based decision support systems, programming and software development for mobile and PC systems. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
What you’ll do
As the Web Developer you will provide analysis and development skills to deliver a range of online decision support systems for managing climate variability and extremes in northern Australia. This will include:
- Maintain and update the existing website
- Develop and deliver new products
- Seek industry feedback on products and customise for regional relevance
- Design user-friendly interfaces for display of the forecast information
- Deliver training and support for clients and end users in software usage
Key to your success in this role will be your relevant qualification and professional experience specific to:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Development or Software Engineering and relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Extensive experience developing online decision support systems using industry standard programming and/or scripting languages such as PHP/Python/.NET/Ruby

Salary: Total remuneration range $106,966 to $118,279 pa (includes salary range of $90,381 to $99,940 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
