ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of the Wellbeing and Injury Management Lead is accountable for planning and developing the Employee Wellbeing Strategy and Wellbeing priorities for Chisholm. The role will be a key enabler to deliver on Our Wellbeing Promise of zero harm within the context of the overall People Plan.

This role drives an integrated, transformational and leading approach to employee wellbeing across the organisation that supports the strategic direction and champions the employee and student experience. This involves leading the provision of high-level support, advice and customer service to facilitate and encourage all employees to be healthy at work and recover from injury or illness as quickly as possible.

With an emphasis and focus on proactive and early engagement in wellbeing intervention programs designed to improve individual outcomes, mitigate risk and reduce the incidence of injury and illness. The role ensures business areas are supported with timely information and advice to efficiently manage and deliver outcomes in line with Chisholm’s wellbeing and injury management policies, procedures and practices.
The incumbent will provide sound and timely advice and support for the organisation’s successful implementation of wellbeing initiatives, including the coordination and facilitation of workshops and events. The role is expected to facilitate workshops consistent with the incumbent’s areas of expertise.

Key Accountabilities include but not limited to:
  • Providing expert wellbeing and injury management advice, training and support to Chisholm managers and employees, including Return to Work (RTW) & Recover at Work (RAW) follow-up support, advice on health matters related to travel.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to support Chisholm’s Wellbeing initiatives.
  • Effectively managing Chisholm’s workers’ compensation processes and cases.
  • Facilitating processes for return to work, reporting and trend analysis to monitor and measure performance for improvement opportunities.
  • Providing comprehensive case management and administration of ill and injured employees, including the development and management of RTW and RAW plans across Victoria and interstate as required.
  • Providing reports as required to inform relevant stakeholders of the effectiveness’ of the teams programs and services.
ABOUT YOU

You will have relevant qualifications, skills, and experience in the following:
  • Certified Return to Work Coordinator, Victorian Workcover Authority (VWA) approved.
  • Certified Personal Injury Practitioner or related discipline or a willingness to obtain.
  • An in-depth understanding of Return-to-Work practices including legislation and the underlying decision making principles.
  • Sound experience in Return-to-Work practices, workers’ compensation, TAC and injury recovery.
  • An ability to effectively manage multiple demands.
  • A thorough understanding of workers’ compensation premiums.
  • Extensive experience in workers’ compensation/personal injury claims management, rehabilitation and return to work programs or experience in a similar role.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills that take into account the needs of the individual, expertise of the service provider, relevant legislation and the underlying principles that lead to desired outcomes.
  • Exceptional verbal, written communication and presentation skills, with self-organisation skills.
  • Able to build relationships, credibility and influence, at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • A robust understanding of mental health and/or anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of Child Safe regulation and/or capacity to learn
