About the Opportunity
Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) has a truly rewarding opportunity for a Community Liaison Officer to join their team on a full time fixed term basis till June 2025 in Broome, WA.
The West Kimberley - Community Liaison will work with communities in the region you will be the main contact person for the Suicide Prevention Trial support. This position will work closely with the Kimberley Aboriginal Suicide Project Coordinator to support and engage local community people in supporting and continuing suicide prevention activities related to the Kimberley Aboriginal suicide prevention trial.
Some of these tasks will include (but will not be limited to):
- Sound communication within the local community environment and across different family and traditional owner groups
- Support community participation in trial site initiatives
- Coordinate and support regular community meetings and gatherings for the Kimberley Aboriginal suicide prevention trial
- Organise and help facilitate community meetings and gatherings with community members, services providers and specific target groups such as LGBTQI, youth etc.
- Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of the community’s suicide prevention project
The ideal candidate will have sound communication skills – verbal, non-verbal and written and have good team work skills.

A 'C' Class Driver's License, Federal Police Clearance and willingness to travel often by 4WD vehicle and light aircraft will be required.
