The Role

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on administrator with a passion for safety and injury management, who is looking to develop their skillset in this area. Working in our WHS Department, you will utilise your injury management experience to support the business Return to Work Program, supporting workers as they recover at work and assisting the business to meet its obligations under WHS, disability discrimination and workers compensation legislation.

Reporting to the WHS Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Effective end to end management of return to work cases and providing support and advice for non-work related medical conditions
Maximising outcomes for workers, minimising impacts on insurance premiums while maintaining a positive safety culture
Development of safety initiatives and campaign launches
Conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments, audits, inductions and training
Incident Investigations and the implementation of risk controls
Liaising with management and staff about safe work practices and continuous improvement programs
Comprehensive report writing and development of return to work plans

Critical to your success will be:
Experience in injury management, WHS and return to work programs in a large, national working environment
A solid understanding of the current principles of workers compensation, discrimination and work, health and safety legislation.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies on workers compensation claims
High level problem-solving skills and the ability to think flexibly to develop solutions and obtain optimal outcomes that meet business needs, while complying with legislation
Demonstrated stakeholder management experience to collaborate, influence and build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Well-developed interpersonal skills, as well as written and oral communication skills
A high attention to detail and the ability to approach investigations with an open mind and objectivity
Ability to work both autonomously without supervision and as part of a team
