Your new role
As part of closing the gender gap of machine operators in the waste management industry, Cleanaway is establishing a Women's Operator Academy to address substantive equality for female identifying or non-binary persons in the industry by removing some of the barriers preventing them from getting involved. Cleanaway is seeking 8 women, female identifying or non-binary persons to participate in an intensive training program which includes licencing and other training required to set you up to be a heavy vehicle driver within our municipal business.
As well as obtaining your Heavy Rigid Licence, you will be shown the ins and outs of what it's like to be a Heavy Vehicle Driver and how to operate a Heavy Vehicle and undertake advance driving skills training. Each participant will be paired with an experienced driving buddy to support you in your Cleanaway journey.

- Operate side lift collection vehicles for municipal contracts
- Performing loading and unloading duties of waste
- Work autonomously in a true team environment
- Deliver loads to nominated recycling and disposals facilities
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Maintaining presentation of the vehicle, inside and out
- 13 week paid training program including;
- Obtain Heavy Vehicle License
- Induction into Cleanaway, Drive alongs, site visits
- 4 week program on how to be a driver
- In cab coaching
- 4 week solo driving time
- Ongoing buddy program

- All training provided and paid including partial Certificate III in Transport Operations

- Held a valid full drivers licence for minimum 2 years with a good driving record
- Confident driving on Melbourne roads
