ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the General Manager People and Culture, you will be responsible for our safety framework and strategic plan, procedures and work practices that comply within the relevant regulations and standards, and legislative requirements. You will also act as a coordinator to ensure that all departments within the company manage and maintain systems and processes to meet and monitor compliance requirements.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on operator that is ‘visible’ and has the ability to create and foster positive and collaborative relationships.
Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Management, monitoring and improvement of the WHS governance and assurance management systems
- Continual review and update of WHS Management Plan including development of strategic WHS approaches
- Management and coordination of workplace investigations
- Implementation and maintenance of safety management software
- Management and development of Health and Safety Representatives
- Educate, support and guide all staff in risk and workplace safety to enable a safety focused culture
- Develop, manage, monitor and evaluate compliance systems
- Act as manager and central contact for compliance update register
- Compilation of compliance reports
- Conducting routine internal audits

KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Tertiary qualifications (or working towards) in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
- Demonstrated experience in Workplace Health and Safety, and Compliance
- Indepth knowledge of aged care industry standards and regulations
- Methodical and analytical with the ability to understand complexities of legislation, procedures and regulations
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work with and influence a diverse workforce
- Working rights within Australia
- National Police Clearance less than 6 months old
- Current Influenza Statement
- Minimum three doses of Covid 19 Vaccination
