About the Department for Correctional Services
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties
The Work Health & Safety (WHS) Officer is accountable to the Team Leader Safety Systems for actively participating in the development, implementation and monitoring of WHS systems, policies and procedures involving health and safety plans and initiatives and providing WHS advice and information to staff and Management. The role is also required to contribute to corporate WHS initiatives and projects.
Special Conditions
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
- A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required.
- Some intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
- The incumbent is a member of the PBS Directorate and will be required to work at multiple sites.
