About the role
Are you a skilled and experienced practitioner committed to improving support services for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds? The Centre for Multicultural Youth is seeking to appoint a Project Worker to work closely with our partner, Anglicare Victoria (AV), to deliver key components of the Working Together Program.
The Working Together Project Worker will:
Investigate and document trends and barriers for multicultural young people in accessing Family Violence services and supports, as well as best practice approaches to supporting multicultural young people experiencing Family Violence. This includes taking an active role in consulting with young people, auditing and assessing workforce capacity, identifying professional development needs and developing and delivering responsive staff capacity building activities.
- Hours: 4 hours per week (0.8FTE), Part Time
- Fixed Term: until December 31 2023
- Base Salary (SCHADS Level 5 ) $88,761.92 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging
- Location: Carlton

You will have
- Understanding of the multiple intersecting barriers affecting refugee and migrant young people, their families and communities, particularly access and equity issues.
- Sound understanding of the definitions and impacts of family violence, and the current service sector response.
- Well-developed interpersonal and cross cultural communication skills with proven ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people including stakeholders, young people, families, communities, volunteers and external organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and implementation, reporting, data collection & evaluation, and well- developed organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of projects, including experience in data collection, evaluation and reporting, and well developed organisational, communication and administrative skills.
- Experience developing and delivering responsive capacity building and professional learning activities.
