Job description

Deliver great customer service and support to employees and visitors

Meet plenty of people within our amazing REA community

Bring a positive, bubbly, and friendly personality to our workplace team!

We're REA

An Australian start-up success story we're quietly proud of. Our purpose is to change the way the world experiences property. No matter where you're at on your property journey, we're here to help on every step - whether that's buying, selling, renting or renovating.

We're proud to be named in Australia's "Top 5" Best Workplaces two years in a row. This recognition is a great proof point of our unique and special culture. A culture that is driven by our people, our values, and our commitment to making a difference in the community.

What we’re doing

You’ll be part of our Workplace team, which sits in our Finance & Business Services Group (or FaBS, as we like to call it). As Workplace Receptionist, you will be the first person that people meet and be the face of the REA brand in our Sydney office. Your role is crucial to supporting our people and bringing our beautiful culture to life. The role will be onsite, representing front of house and always helping and assisting with staff queries as a priority, while continually improving the ‘behind the scenes’ of REA, driving efficiencies and maximising employee satisfaction. You will be a multi-tasking pro and thrive working in a fast-paced environment. While no two days are ever the same, you’ll be doing:

Act as the main point of contact for visitors to REA Sydney and sit front-of-house

Take ownership of and manage the REA security pass system to ensure staff/visitors have the correct access and are signed in/out as required

Manage incoming/outgoing calls and enquiries

Arrange mail, couriers and deliveries promptly along with the management of on-site contractors and suppliers

Manage relevant stock levels to ensure supplies are always available

Monitor calendars and provide support to board, investor and other important meetings, events and visitors as required

Facilitate workplace services such as clean desk policy, lockers, parking, set up/pack down of events and assist with ad-hoc office requests and ensure staff office areas are well maintained

Assist and facilitate our concierge services, including employee health services, visitor Wi-Fi, lost property, and upkeep of meeting rooms, etc

Assist with the management of REA national sites through the resolution of day-to-day operational tasks and issues

Assist with coordinating reactive and scheduled maintenance activities for assets and building facilities

Assist in the managing of Zendesk tickets by actively monitoring queues and providing first responses and resolutions within set timeframes

Manage the coordination of REA internal social events and order event catering for all business units as required

Communicate office and facility updates to staff via established communication channels

Assist to maintain team pages on the REA intranet with relevant information/updates

Act as both an REA First Aid officer and Warden for the Sydney office (training can be provided)

Who we’re looking for

Whilst we are looking for someone to be at our front desk, the role is not just answering the phone and greeting people with a smile. It’s about continually finding ways to improve the current office environment, looking after the space and its finishing’s, and ultimately creating a space that everyone is proud to work in.

Previous reception experience in a similar role is highly regarded but not essential.

Someone comfortable operating calmly in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Exceptional customer service skills including phone manner.

Ability to multitask, smile and have fun.

Proven experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens.

Someone who is tech-savvy and keen to keep learning.

Ability to lift lightweight furniture and parcels safely.

Ability to work onsite every day.

A team player – you take a proactive approach to support your team and enjoy working collaboratively.

The REA experience

The physical, mental, emotional and financial health of our people is something we’ll never stop caring about. This is a place to learn and grow. We’re committed to your development – both professionally and personally. Your experience with us is something we take seriously.

We offer:

A hybrid approach to the future of work -

Generous and flexible parental leave offering for primary and secondary carers

Support for your mental and physical health and wellbeing via our ‘You Matter’ Program

Because We Care program which includes volunteer leave and community grants, to ensure you have the opportunity to give back to your community

Hack Days for you to bring so you can bring your big ideas to life in a supportive learning environment

An additional day of leave just for your birthday

Oh, and by the way:

At REA we value diversity and inclusion in all forms. Gender, religion, ethnicity, LBTGIQ+, neurodiversity and so much more. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you've got the must-haves, dedication and enthusiasm to learn but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.

If you like the sound of us, then we think you should apply today. We're proud to be Circle Back Initiative Employer and we commit to respond to every applicant. While we're looking at your application, and preparing to come back to you with an update, why not get to know us a bit more through our various social channels?
