Operating from within the Georesources division, you will be part of a dedicated team that is responsible for management and remediation of abandoned mines. You will provide support towards the supervision of project works associated with risk management and remediation of abandoned mines and associated infrastructure, in conjunction with the Project Manager and other internal and external resources. This will include ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety to implement Health and Safety Management systems and the supervision high risk project works including decommissioning of infrastructure, major earthworks, shaft repair and care and maintenance activities.
This role will focus on supervision of works and contractors to deliver remediation projects at a newly disclaimed base metal mine and processing facility located near Charters Towers.

Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Provide technical and operational advice on work methods to undertake execution of abandoned mine remediation activities and shaft repair activities safely, to required specifications and standards.
- Prioritisation of works, and coordination of contractors as required to execute on ground works for project delivery.
- Effective communication with contractors, landholders and project teams.
- Provide support and advice to the Project Manager and Project Director on operational works.
- Supervision of on-ground works to ensure compliance with legislative requirements including Workplace Health and Safety.
