Workshop Manager for a "Rail" (train and trams) based service workshop
COMPANY
Our client is a global provider of Industrial Services & Parts sold into the Rail Industry. This is a great opportunity to join the Management Team within a true market leader. The business is nationally known for their high service levels, after market support and innovation. With record profits over the last few years, this company is booming and are now looking to appoint a Workshop Manager.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Regional Manager you will be responsible for the management and control of the service centre activities to ensure these activities are in accordance with customer expectations, company guidelines and procedures in relation to quality and service. The role will be managing the Workshop which is predominantly a “Rail” (train and trams) based service workshop. Responsibilities include:
Manage the retention and profitable operation of the Customer Service centre.
Implement the service policy including the supervision of staff (10), service enquires, price and cost control.
Ensure that all service and repairs are delivered on time and in accordance with company quality standards.
Maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity in relation to workshop and field service work
May from time to time be required to assist in the repair / overhaul process ie. “working on the tools”
Handle customer complaints and issues for the Customer Service Centre
Direct the activities of the Service Technicians in the field.
Manage company assets including service equipment and company vehicles.
Ensure staff are trained in correct procedures in relation to product service and repair
Develop quotes for customers and ensures they are accurate and adhere to company policy and guidelines.
ABOUT YOU
You hold a technical qualification appropriate to the products being serviced combined with proven practical experience
Must possess sound people management skills with ability to handle conflict and grievances
At least five years’ experience in front line management
Previous Workshop management experience and has an inclusive management style to bring the team along with them.
