Salary - Classification - AHP3 - Allied Health Professional L3 - $101,124 to $108,467(In addition to the annual salary package, we also offer salary sacrifice benefits, employer superannuation contributions and leave loading.

The Department

The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service.

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

Yarrow Place Rape and Sexual Assault Service is a service for anyone who has been sexually assaulted. Yarrow Place provides free and confidential service for people aged 16 years and over at the time of being sexually assaulted. Services include:

24 Hour Crisis Response Service for recent sexual assault—this includes support from a social worker, medical care by a doctor or nurse, and collection of forensic evidence for people who are considering legal action.
Professional counselling and advocacy for recent and past sexual assault clients as well as their support people.
Group programs, seminars, education, training and community capacity-building.
Country response program, providing counselling in the Riverland, Mount Gambier, Whyalla and outreach to surrounding areas including Port Augusta and Port Lincoln regions.
The Intensive Therapeutic Care Program for Guardianship young people aged 12-25 years who are at risk of sexual exploitation (DCP Referral only—young people must be under Guardianship at time of referral).

The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Yarrow Place team as a Training & Community Engagement Coordinator on a 12 month long term contract.

As the Training & Community Engagement Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for

Managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of education and training in relation to interpersonal trauma and gendered violence including rape and sexual assault in South Australia, including managing the training functions within Yarrow Place and across Youth and Women’s Safety Wellbeing Division (YWSWD).
Managing the development, implementation and evaluation of community engagement programs and projects in relation to interpersonal trauma and gendered violence including rape and sexual assault in South Australia including strategic plans and initiatives within Yarrow Place, Youth and Women’s Safety Wellbeing Division and WCHN.
Coordinating, facilitating and delivering training to workers and/or community members within the network and broader sectors.
Providing a therapeutic counselling service to a small number of people who have been raped or sexually assaulted.
Contributing to leadership activities within Yarrow Place including collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.
Working collaboratively and in partnership with key partners in addressing violence against women, children, and men, including participating on board, committees and working groups.
Coordinating and supporting the Consumer Engagement Program, including coordinating consumer activities and providing support to Consumer Engagement Representatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will use your considerable skills in the administration, management, supervision and delivery of social work services including working with consumer engagement programs. You will also draw upon your experience in high level written and oral communications, including your proven ability to communicate effectively with people from a range of backgrounds.
