Yorke and Northern Local Health Network have temporary and permanent positions for Registered Nurses wishing to work within the fast paced and dynamic Emergency Departments at the Wallaroo Hospital.
Opportunities are also available for Registered Nurses employed in this role to expand and consolidate on additional skills within additional services if desired.
Port Pirie Regional Health Service
Port Pirie located 223 kilometres from Adelaide - known as the City of Friendly People
Port Pirie is a small City, nestled in the Southern Flinders Ranges as well as being situated on the Spencer Gulf, providing the perfect location of rolling hills meeting the beautiful coastline. It is a small drive to some of the most spectacular and diverse hiking trails
Port Pirie Regional Health Service - Emergency Department
Port Pirie Emergency Department sees approximately 12,000 people per year. This is a dynamic mix of adult and paediatric presentations.
The Department has 6 sub-acute bays, 2 resus bays, 2 isolation/infection control rooms, 1 mental health low stimulus room and a general procedural room. It is a busy and dynamic department with varying high acuity presentations. We are surrounded by multiple large industrial and agricultural businesses.
The department is an up-transfer facility for many YNLHN sites to support high acuity presentations such as code stroke. Port Pirie ED is a Code Stroke Thrombolysis centre and has 24/7 access to CT/radiology.
The department is staffed and supported by locum medical officers who are on site. The nursing and medical team are highly skilled and supportive, providing high level emergency care to our patients
Positions Available
- Registered Nurse: Permanent P/T, 0.63 FTE (24 hours per week) Commencing ASAP
Wallaroo is located 160 kilometres from Adelaide on the beautiful coastline of the Yorke Peninsula, Wallaroo is a 21-bed acute hospital. Services offered include 24-hour accident and emergency, acute and general medical services, chemotherapy, medical imaging, surgical services obstetric and maternity care, palliative care, and outpatient clinics.
The Yorke Peninsula region offers a lovely place to live and work, providing a beautiful coastal living, the areas provide great beaches for swimming and fishing. There is plenty of areas to explore on your days off
Wallaroo Hospital Emergency Department
The Wallaroo Hospital Emergency Department sees approximately 9000 presentations a year and is one of the most rapidly growing Emergency Departments in Country South Australia. The Emergency Department sees both Adult and Paediatric presentations and manages a high acuity of patient presentations.
The Copper Coast is a beautiful tourist destination with an expanding population and is surrounded by industrial, aquaculture and agriculture industries.
The department is staffed and supported by locum medical officers who are on site as well as supported by Medstar as our retrieval service.
The nursing and medical team are highly skilled and supportive, providing high level emergency care to our patients.
