Seeking a Youth Work Case Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a Youth Work Case Manager to join our Cairns-based team, focusing on residential out-of-home care.
Reporting to the Area Manager, you be passionate about seeing the children and young people you care for thrive, as well as the Youth Work staff you will be leading.
You will manage a dedicated team of Youth Workers and enjoy being an advocate for young people, and provide quality residential care and life-skill support to young people
Some of the tasks will include:
- Inducting, onboarding and training Youth Work staff to achieve the goals of their roles
- Coaching and mentoring of Youth Work staff so that they can excel and thrive in their roles
- Providing supervision and development plans for Youth Work staff for continuous improvement
- Engaging and developing robust relationships with key stakeholders
- Fulfilling reporting requirements in relation to the young people and workers
- Overseeing case management and progress of domains for children and young people
- Writing Safety Plans and Positive Behaviour Support plans
- Develop rosters being mindful of award compliance, service agreement requirements and cost-effectiveness
- Fill shifts when required
- Support Youth Workers via after hours on-call roster
About the Person
You will have experience in leading a team in programs that care for vulnerable people with complex needs. It is essential to have a strong desire to upskill a team and empower them to deliver best practice methods. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to advocate for young people and collaborate with stakeholders on all levels. Candidates being considered for this role will be able to demonstrate their strong understanding of the Child Protection Act 1999 and knowledge of the impacts of trauma on young people. Other essential requirements you must possess include;
- A current QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
- A Certificate IV or higher in a recognised field
- A valid driver's license with no restrictions
- A national police check or ability to obtain one
- A First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one
- Licensed Care Services (LCS) or ability to obtain one
- Completion of Hope and Healing training
