NSW Ambulance is now seeking to appoint high calibre, contemporary leaders to Zone Manager vacancies in clinical operations and aeromedical directorates around the state of NSW.
The advertisement is aimed to create a talent pool of successful applicants for permanent and temporary vacancies (up to 18 months).
The Zone Manager provides leadership and direction of a team of Duty Operations Managers and Station Officers or Control Centre Duty Operations Managers to meet performance requirements in delivering high-quality, cost-effective emergency patient care, clinical and operational practice and patient transport services for the community.
The Zone Manager is responsible for the staff and operations of your business area, typically managing over 100 staff and a multi-million dollar budget.
As a Zone Manager you will:
Lead and direct all Ambulance operations within your remit, ensuring the highest levels of service are delivered;
Engage in operational emergency service delivery and undertake a command role in the event of large-scale incidents using the emergency escalation and command and control protocols and procedures including the sue of Incident Control Systems (ICS) and Incident Management Teams (IMT)
Lead, coach and develop your staff including volunteers, on all aspects of Ambulance operations;
Assist in the development of strategies and programs to improve the operational efficiency of your business area, through astute financial and operational management, and the adoption of global best practice methodologies;
Collaborate closely with your peers and partners to maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as local health districts, emergency services and community groups;
Maintain a responsive, future focused and contemporary organisational culture which supports staff to deliver true excellence in patient care;
Critical to your success will be your ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team to be the very best within a highly challenging and demanding environment.

Employment Conditions:
Please note: To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
The successful applicant will be appointed under the terms and conditions of the Operational Ambulance Managers (State) Award and will be required to enter into the annual Performance Development Program.
The successful applicant may be required to undertake duties at the other locations should the need arise.
NSW Ambulance employees currently undertaking a specialist consolidation period are eligible to apply however will need to complete all training and return to service obligations before accepting a Zone Manager role.
Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory conduct and services check, which includes referee/supervisor check, a review of National Criminal Record Check, review of Service Check Register, a review of sick leave, ability to undertake full duties of the position and clearance from the Professional Conduct and Integrity section.
