Job description

The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 13 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.
NAPCo has owned Coolullah Station since 1992 and the property is positioned to the southwest of NAPCo owned Boomarra in Queensland's Gulf Country, along the Leichhardt River on the edge of the rich Mount Isa mineral fields and located 1 hour north of Cloncurry.
The role
Join the Coolullah crew in 2024 in a split role as a Bore Runner/Station Hand to work in a permanent full-time position.
Ideally the successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working on a cattle station as a Station Hand
  • Have experience working with cattle
  • Be a confident horse rider or motorbike rider
  • Be able to flex across mustering, fencing, checking waters, lick runs and other general station duties as required by immediate supervisor
  • Maintain waters across the property, clean troughs and undertake basic repairs
  • Be mechanically minded
  • Be able to work in a team or on your own
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures

Pre-employment requirements
Prior to commencement, all new employees are required to undertake an Australian National Police Check and are also required to be vaccinated against Q Fever (all associated costs covered by NAPCO).
