Job description

The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 13 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.
We are looking for Bore Runners to join our crews in QLD or the NT. To be considered for Bore Runner positions to commence at the start of the 2024 Season, please complete an online application, by attaching a resume and cover letter explaining your interest in joining our team.
Stations:
Gallipoli Outstation, NT
Alexandria Station, NT
Day to day duties include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and maintaining water supplies and associated infrastructure for livestock
  • Re-fuelling / starting pumps
  • Checking on stock
  • General station maintenance including: maintaining fences etc,
  • Working alone and unsupervised
  • Performing your job safely and operating equipment in a safe manner
  • Duties may differ slightly depending on individual station needs
Ideally the successful candidate will:
  • Have experience working as a Bore Runner
  • Hold a current manual drivers licence
  • Be a self-starter that is able to work autonomously and unsupervised
  • Prior mechanical experience would be high regarded
  • Have machinery operators and /or truck driving experience, is advantageous

Pre-employment requirements
Prior to commencement, all new employees are required to undertake an Australian National Police Check and are also required to be vaccinated against Q Fever (all associated costs covered by NAPCO).
