We have an exciting opportunity for 2 x Apprentice Distribution Lineworkers to undertake a Certificate III in ESI Distribution Overhead over a four-year program which will enable you to obtain industry skills and knowledge under the supervision of qualified and experienced professionals, while also attending TAFE to complete your certification.

The location for these apprenticeships will be based at Cambridge however these roles involve a large amount of travel throughout the state.

During the program, you will be a valued member of our team and will participate in workplace and worksite rotations, experiencing a variety of work environments within the electricity supply industry which will enhance your skills and career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Construct, maintain and repair overhead assets to agreed network standards
  • Operate plant, equipment and tools associated with the construction and maintenance of the network
  • Installation and maintenance of overhead distribution conductors and cables
  • Inspect overhead structures and electrical apparatus
  • Test and verify distribution overhead installations
  • General duties such as yard work, ground work at job sites, administration, traffic control (where trained) and warehouse activities

About You

This is an exciting time for our industry and we would love to be able to share this journey with someone who is committed and eager to learn. When you complete the program successfully, you will have completed all competencies for a Certificate III in ESI Distribution Overhead.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • A pre-apprenticeship qualification (Certificate II Electrotechnology) will benefit your application but is not essential
  • The ability to work at heights and an enjoyment of working in the outdoors, as well as the ability to be able to travel frequently around the state
  • Either have a current drivers licence or have obtained a drivers licence by January 2025
  • A good positive attitude and a willingness to work as a team will no doubt see you succeed in your new role
