About the Role             

There are more than 1,300 Junior Medical staff positions at Monash Health in over 200 medical specialties, to help grow your career. We offer unparalleled opportunities in Victoria's largest & most clinically diverse teaching health service. As Interventional Radiology Fellow you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person centred care, provide teaching and supervision of resident medical staff and students. To extend the knowledge in the basic science and practice of Interventional Radiology Imaging through a wide range of clinical presentations and imaging studies, and through direct teaching and supervision. Participation in the on call roster is expected. This position is based across all Monash Health campuses. 

About the Department 

Monash Health Imaging is the largest public provider of imaging, therapeutic and interventional services within Australia with over 600 staff across the network. We provide Interventional Radiology (IR) at 6 sites of the Monash Health network (Victorian Heart Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Moorabbin Hospital and Casey Hospital). 

We perform more than 3500 body angiography procedures as well as more than 4000 non-vascular image guided procedures per year, including paediatric IR and INR procedures. The department also performs more than 18000 diagnostic vascular studies per year across US, CT and MRI and our Interventional Radiologists also report a wide variety of non-vascular diagnostic studies. 

The service has a large inpatient consult service across multiple hospitals, with strong collaboration with our colleagues in various medical and surgical specialities. A dedicated IR bedcard is in its final stage of implementation. We also have a growing outpatient service, with regular clinics for BodyIR, Venous Incompetence and Vascular Malformations. 

About You

What you need: 

Medical Specialist/Fellow: 

  • A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which is recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. 
  • Trainee of relevant medical college. 
  • Part II FRANZCR exam and 5 years of Registrar training (or equivalent training for oversees applicants).  
  • Victorian Employee Working with Children Check. 
  • Radiation Use Licence 

Other Requirements: 

  • Current Drivers Licence 
  • All candidates will require Australian working rights. 
  • Participation in the on call roster is expected. 
  • This position is based across all Monash Health campuses.
