About the facility

About the Department
The department supports a wide range of clinical Ophthalmological services including corneal, glaucoma and vitreoretinal surgery. The department has a strong commitment to excellence in clinical education and burgeoning research activities and a strong focus on preparing senior trainees for consultant practice.
About the Role
Applications are invited from unaccredited Ophthalmology trainees to complete a General Ophthalmology year at Barwon Health in 2025. The department currently employs 13 Ophthalmologists, one Ophthalmology Fellow and 3 Ophthalmology registrars (two accredited).
Subspecialty exposure in medical retina, vitreoretinal surgery, oculoplastics, uveitis, glaucoma and cornea is available. The role includes one day each fortnight at Colac Area Health where registrars are involved in outpatient clinic services and may be able to attend additional theatre lists. The role requires participation in the roster for after-hours, on-call and recall as required by your unit.
