The Role

An opportunity exists for an Urology Fellow to join the team at Northern Health for the 2025 clinical year.

This role is responsible for the provision of appropriate care to inpatients and public outpatients of the Urology team at all Northern Health sites, provision of a consultative service for patients of other Units or Departments.

  • Ensuring supervision of junior medical staff and urology nurse consultant and to provide support for the senior medical staff in the care of the Unit / Department's patients. On call and management of emergency department admissions - Share the unit on call with the unit registrars.
  • Operating - Depending on the case complexity fellow will be asked to perform procedures under direct or over-sight supervision.
  • Research/audit/teaching - This is an integral part on Fellow's training and will be expected to take part actively. Urology unit has a dedicated research team to support trainees.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or ability to apply.
  • Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential - MBBS, MD, PhD or equivalent
  • Australian Citizen or VISA with Full Working Rights (or ability to apply)
