Under close supervision as a member of a team, undertake the following duties:
- Provide administrative assistance for a range of projects (e. NFSA Restores, Sounds of Australia, etc), including collection research, media formats, data quality, profiling the collection etc.
- Undertake a range of project logistics tasks, including preparing and delivering digital files through FTP platforms, invoice payments, and logistics.
- Undertake a range of accessioning tasks, including born-digital materials according to the NFSA’s standards and guidelines, as well as digital ingest tasks.
- Provide accurate and detailed collection descriptions, including identification of media formats and collection condition information as part of the accessioning process.
Selection Criteria
In relation to the selection criteria below, concisely describe your skills, experience, and achievements against each of the following areas (up to two pages in total):
- Experience in research and accurate record keeping combined with demonstrated administrative problem-solving skills, and proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of collection description, handling, and control of collection materials in an archive, museum, or library environment, ideally with reference to audiovisual materials.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and to undertake tasks requiring patience and ability to respond in an agile fashion with minimal supervision.
- Communication skills, both oral and written.
- Fair knowledge of and interest in Australian history and/or the audio-visual and screen industries.
