The Payment Performance Branch implements the regulatory functions of the Payment Times Reporting Scheme. The Scheme requires large businesses to report on their payment practices to small business, including:
- Standard payment terms – how quickly they say they will pay
- Actual payment performance – how quickly they pay
- The use of supply chain financing arrangements – where small businesses may be paid more quickly in return for reduced payment.
Data is a key driver for the Regulator and is an essential component for the Regulator to identify potential compliance activities, measure performance of the Regulator and of the Scheme and to improve the quality of the information received. The key duties of these positions include:
- Management of data activities to support the Regulator’s use of data to conduct investigations and audits
- Data analysis of Payment Times Reports to identify improvements to regulator processes
- Development and implementation of data methodologies to support compliance activity
- Development and maintenance of appropriate governance and data management documentation
- Provide data analytic support across the Small and Family Business Division.
Desirable Qualifications / Experience
- These positions require experience in data analysis in a public service or private sector setting.
- While not necessary, experience using data analytics software and knowledge of one or more coding languages is desirable.
