.This is a Temporary Full Time 38 hours per week position until 30 June 2025 with the possibility of extension at same/reduced hours, subject to funding..With you, we can do more..Are you an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health worker passionate about community development and providing support to children and young people? Then you could be the perfect person to join the ISLHD Out of Home Care (OOHC) team located on the lands of the Dharawal and Yuin Nations.It is a wonderful opportunity for an Aboriginal Health Worker (AHW) to join the OOHC Health Pathway team. The AHW will work in a team of nurses, a social worker and paediatric doctors organising health assessments for children and young people living in OOHC aged 0-17years and linking them to health services. This is a temporary full time role ending 30 June 2025, with the possibility for extension.We are looking for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker who:
- Has experience working with children and young people
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the health issues that impact Aboriginal people and communities
- Interested in networking in the community
- Has great communication skills
- Has a current, unrestricted NSW driver’s licence with the ability to travel (in accordance with role responsibilities)
