Be challenged and imagine with us

As the Academic Work Allocation Manager, you will be responsible for integrating our Academic Work Allocation Model into the University’s core operations and processes. You will ensure the Model and associated processes reflects our complex operating environment, and addresses the unique challenges faced by Higher Education, including changes in the funding landscape.

In this strategic role, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the University, using your data-driven approach to drive significant process improvements and contribute to the institution's success through effective workforce planning.

In this role you will:

  • Analyse and interpret data to facilitate decision making, ensuring the integration of our Academic Work Allocation Model aligns with legislation and policies, and reflects our core values.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders within our Colleges and Divisions, working closely to review their Work Allocation data, and provide advice and reports when required.
  • Support the development of performance metrics and facilitate training to build capability of the Work Allocation management system.

This fixed term position is until December 2025, is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • High-level understanding of strategic workforce management, labour utilisation, and Academic Work Allocation in a large, complex environment.
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced by Higher Education institutions, particularly in the context of a dynamic funding landscape and constant change.
  • Proficient in data analytics with the ability to generate actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to focus on smaller tasks while maintaining a strategic, big-picture perspective.
What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $112,112 to $130,798 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
